Poofy hair

I cant remember if I found this photo on this site or not... but I thought the hair was AWESOME!

It's drawn on 2 sheets of Arches paper put together rather poorly :)

I used guoache for the color and vine charcoal for the value. Contour was done with charcoal pencil

i like the colour in this. the drawing on its own is good, but i really think its the colour that makes it - it creates a million different interpretations at once. i like how you used it for shading on the back, and then just used it according to intuition... nicely done.

What did you do first, the paint or the charcoal?

Well, I used paper that had stuff on it, but was not worth continuing. That is where SOME of the paint came from... Then I did the charcoal, and lastly added more paint.

Haha, I love the colours. I originally thought this was drawn on a cardboard box. Amazing work!
