finished with the drawing/painting of the dead King in Hamlet. There is actually a lot more detail in the image... but I decided to shrink it down to like 1% of its original size so you arent viewing a 2Gb file...
I have a ton of drawings to add... BUT IM TOO BUSY!!!
30x40"
charcoal pencils vine charcoal powdered charcoal arches paper photoshop cs3
took over 17 scans to get the whole thing... ugg...
*note* As many of you have so intelligently pointed out; yes, I used the Holy Crown of Hungary as a reference for the crown in this image, however my intent was not to copy the crown exactly, hence the abolition of several details, such as the gems and pearls on the crown.
*shrugs* It was a cool looking crown that had a feel I liked, so I used it. And actually a very big reason I used the crown is that I first drew my own attempt at a crown, and the image was finished with my hideously simple crown [link] but after a day or two of not liking how it turned out, I knew I had to redo the crown. Luckily the picture I found of the Holy Crown of Hungary not only looked good, but was at almost the exact same perspective to sit in my hands. Lucky me!

"I used the Holy Crown of Hungary as a reference for the crown in this image" Thanks for the reference! It's always a nice compliment to see the Hungarian crown used by artists from all over the world. It makes me proud as a Hungarian (in New York). You're an amazing artist, I'm glad to see your awesome work online!!
